Real hourly calculator

One shift in. Truth out.

How the real-hourly calculator works

Enter one shift — gross pay, hours online, and miles driven — and DriverStack subtracts what the driving actually cost, then divides by your hours to show your real hourly pay. It flags any shift that comes in below California's $16.90 minimum wage.

1. It uses your cost model, not the app's

Choose full cost (the IRS 73¢/mile rate, covering gas, depreciation, maintenance, insurance and tires) or fuel-only (just the gas you burn). The methodology page explains why the choice matters.

2. It compares to real California minimum wage

Every result is checked against the $16.90 statewide floor. See how that benchmark applies to contractors.

3. It works for every platform

Uber, Lyft, DoorDash, Instacart, Uber Eats, Spark, and Amazon Flex. Compare them on real pay, or see a worked example.
